Scoring and Judging

Scouter’s Winter Campout (S.W.C.) is a one-of-a-kind annual event created exclusively for adult Scout leaders. For over 55 years, S.W.C. has blended winter camping, leadership training, and hands-on challenges with the fun and fellowship of Scouting. Through patrol competitions, themed activities, and time around the campfire, leaders gain fresh ideas, new skills, and a renewed sense of why they serve.

How is SWC scored and judged?

Some events/activities are judged by our staff. Some activities are awarded points for participation.

Game winners are awarded points for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place rankings. Other awards, such as Spirit Patrol, are voted on by the patrol leaders.

How Are Events Judged?

The parameters for judged activities are listed in the Participant Packet and may change from year to year.

Factors such as choice of materials, craftsmanship, creativity, SWC theme integration, originality, and “Scoutiness” are often considered.
