Every Great Patrol Starts with a Great Theme
One of the most memorable traditions at Scouters’ Winter Campout is the use of Patrol Themes. Every year, patrols arrive with creative identities that bring energy, unity, and humor to the entire event. It’s not just about costumes—it’s about Scout spirit, storytelling, and connection.
What is a Patrol Theme?
Each patrol chooses a theme that reflects their personality, creativity, or even their interpretation of that year’s SWC theme. From classic movie references to pun-filled names, the possibilities are endless.
Your patrol theme guides everything you do for the weekend:
- Your patrol name
- Costumes or uniform flair
- Your cheer or song
- Your flag and totems
- Even your skit or table decorations
Great patrol themes make the whole weekend more memorable—for you and everyone around you.
Why Themes Matter
Patrol themes aren’t just for fun (though they are a lot of fun). They also:
- Set your team apart
- Boost your Spirit Patrol score
- Help first-timers bond quickly
- Create shared identity and pride
- Make it easier to yell very loudly in public
Past Patrol Themes
We’re building a Patrol Gallery to showcase themes and photos from years past.
